Mysore Gymkhana retains title
MYSORE,
JUNE 20.
Helped by a responsible 104 by opener Prasanth C. Shanbal and his 136-run opening wicket partnership with S.S. Yognath (65), defending champion Mysore Gymkhana, on the basis of its 38-run first innings lead, retained the title in the Sri Gopalaswami memorial cricket tournament 2004 final played at the PET grounds, Mandya on Sunday.
The scores: Mysore City Gymkhana 311 in 94 overs (K.B. Chandan 108, Rohit 42, Nikelesh Gowda 37, Kafeel Ahmed five for 60, K.B. Chandan three for 61) and eight for no loss in 5 overs drew with Mysore Gymkhana 349 in 74.5 overs ( Prasanth C Shanbal 104, S.S. Yognath 65, Guruprasad 50, C. Anand 30, A. Venkateshwara 38, S. Rohit four for 80).
