NCERT Secretary to be replaced

NEW DELHI,
JUNE 21.
The Union Human Resource Development Ministry today decided to replace the Secretary of the National Council of Educational Research and Training, Anil Kapoor, with Vivek Bhardwaj, a Deputy Secretary in its Secondary Education Division.
The NCERT had been at the centre of a controversy over the debate on `saffronisation' of education.
The Search Committee,set up by the Ministry to scout for a replacement for the NCERT Director, J.S. Rajput, has advertised for the post.
In a related development, the three-member committee of historians, formed by the Ministry to conduct a "quick review" of the NCERT history textbooks, will meet for the first time in the Capital on Tuesday.
