TIRUPATI June 21. The Government College Contract Teachers' Association on Monday strongly criticised the Minister for Higher Education for his alleged volte-face on his earlier promise to renew their job contracts. The Chittoor district unit of the Association in a strongly worded statement signed by its Convenor S. Hariprasad and the Secretary, K. Ramesh Reddy regretted that even the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy who gave a specific promise to this effect both in his pre and post election speeches was not only back-tracking but also dilly-dallying on the issue with the result that their jobs were now in more danger than ever before. The association gave a call for a `Chalo Hyderabad' campaign on June 25.
