State team to visit Goa today

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, JUNE 21. A delegation from the State led by the Large- and Medium-scale Industries Minister, P.G.R. Sindhia, will meet the Goa Chief Minister, Manohar Parikkar, in Panaji on Tuesday evening to discuss the plight of Kannadigas whose dwellings on Baina beach were demolished by the authorities there.

Mr. Sindhia told presspersons here today that the delegation led by him and comprising the MLC and former Water Resources Minister, H.K. Patil, and the Karnataka State Women's Commission chairperson, Philomena Peris, would meet those evicted in the demolition drive.

Later they would meet Mr. Parikkar.

Asked why there was nobody from the BJP in the delegation, which could have been useful in the discussions with the BJP Government in Goa, the Minister said they were welcome to join the delegation.
