By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, JUNE 21 . Activists of the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) here staged a demonstration today at the Head Post office, protesting the "abnormal price rise of petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas". The president, R. Kesavalu, including the party legislator, A.M. Krishnamoorthy, led the protestors. They also sought the immediate dismissal of "tainted" Central Ministers. They also wanted the Prevention of Terrorism Act to be retained. "The Centre and the Karnataka Governments had let down the ryots of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry on the Cauvery issue." Calling upon the 12 Cabinet Ministers from Tamil Nadu to quit their posts, the activists urged the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam to withdraw support to the United Progressive Alliance at the Centre.
