CHAMARAJANAGAR, JUNE 22. Members of the Kannada Jagruthi Samithi and various pro-Kannada organisations began an indefinite fast in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday demanding that the Deputy Commissioner, Harsh Gupta, release the proceedings of the Kannada Jagruthi Samithi meeting held on June 1. They also demanded that the Government suspend and transfer the Publicity Officer, Manjunath Babu, for allegedly questioning the necessity to use Kannada in the administration. Several leaders of pro-Kannada organisations participated in the protest.
