Laloo examining Godhra carnage from Railways' angle
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
JUNE 22.
The Railways Minister, Laloo Prasad Yadav, today said he was looking from the Railways' angle into the Godhra train carnage in which 58 people were burnt to death.
``We are looking into whatever is related to our department. I am getting it examined from the angle of what the Railways did and did not," he told a delegation of minorities from Godhra who called on him here.
Accompanied by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, the delegation said the Muslims in Godhra were still frightened and suspicion continued to prevail there. It complained to the Minister that those investigating the incident were harassing the minorities and urged him to get the probe conducted by the Railways instead of the Gujarat Government.
