Sporting in good form

CHENNAI, JUNE 22. Madras Sporting Union, the only unbeaten team till date, kept its reputation intact with a 4-1 win over lowly State Bank of India in the CFA senior division super league at the Nehru stadium on Tuesday.

Ghanaian Samuel Jackson opened the account in the 50th minute.. Venkatesan made it 2-0 in the 69th minute, after substitute Bharath had skied a chance from close range.

Sporting was in full control and none mirrored the mood better than Pradeep who capped a solo (85th), after Venkatesan had sent a right footer in (78th). In the closing stages, a flag kick helped Senthilkumar to head in the Bank's consolation goal.
