CHANDIGARH, JUNE 22. The Haryana Health Department is upgrading its existing infrastructure for diagnostic facilities by setting up Regional Diagnostic Centres at Panchkula, Gurgaon, Rewari, Bhiwani and Sirsa. An official spokesman disclosed here today that Rs.15 crores had been allocated by the Central Government under the Eleventh Finance Commission for the setting up of these Regional Diagnostic Centres. Equipment costing Rs.9.30 crores had already been purchased during the last financial year and more equipment would be purchased this financial year too.It is also proposed to construct buildings for blood banks in each district. He further pointed out that apart from this, modern equipment worth Rs.three crores was being provided at various health institutions in the State. Steps were also being taken for the repair and maintenance of existing equipment, he added.
