Students protest Sri Lakshmi's murder

NIZAMABAD, JUNE 22. Girl students of several colleges on Tuesday took to the streets, protesting the murder of the MCA student, Sri Lakshmi, in Vijayawada on Monday.

The students took out a rally under the banner of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. They waved banners and placards, and raised slogans demanding action against the accused.

They marched to the Collector and submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Officer. They said the Government must take such incidents seriously and take steps to safeguard women students. They also wanted that eve-teasers be punished severely.
