NIZAMABAD, JUNE 22. Girl students of several colleges on Tuesday took to the streets, protesting the murder of the MCA student, Sri Lakshmi, in Vijayawada on Monday. The students took out a rally under the banner of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. They waved banners and placards, and raised slogans demanding action against the accused. They marched to the Collector and submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Officer. They said the Government must take such incidents seriously and take steps to safeguard women students. They also wanted that eve-teasers be punished severely.
