MADURAI, JUNE 22. Members of the Madurai Bar Association observed a fast for the second day today, seeking early inauguration of the High Court Bench here. The fast, held near the Tamukkam Ground, was led by the senior advocate, V. Ramalingam, in which Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leaders and the State general secretary of Janata Dal (Secular), K. John Moses, spoke. The former Speaker, P.T.R. Palanivelrajan, the former Minister, Pon. Muthuramalingam, the DMK district secretary, V. Veluchamy, were among those who spoke. The speakers wanted to know the reasons for the delay of the inauguration of the Bench, when the construction had already been completed. They also referred to the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court's three earlier announcements on the inauguration and called upon leaders of all parties to stand united in the issue. The MBA president, K. Vellaichamy, and the secretary, A.K.Ramasamy, led the advocates in the agitation.
