BANGALORE, JUNE 22. A man allegedly murdered his wife following a petty quarrel at Karimsab Layout in Rajagopalanagar Police Station limits on Monday night, according to the police. The police said Lokanathan (25) assaulted his wife, Kavita (20), with a club, killing her on the spot. He surrendered to the police this morning, they added. The police said Lokanathan of Vaniambadi in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu married Kavita of Doddaballapur two years ago. He allegedly used to come home drunk and quarrel with her. In another case, Srinivasa (18) was stabbed to death by unidentified persons at Dubarahalli near BEML Layout in Varthur Police Station limits. The victim's body was found lying in a pool of blood on Monday, the police said. The motive behind the murder is not known. The Varthur Police have taken up a case of murder. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was a resident of B. Narayanapura near K.R. Puram. Accident: Two persons, who were seriously injured when their motorcycle hit a median on Ring Road near Shivashakti Hotel in Byatarayanapura Police Station limits on Monday evening, died on the way to Victoria hospital. The police said Soumya opened the door when the accused told her that her husband, Ashok, had sent them. Once inside the house, they tied her hands with her veil and gagged her. They then removed all her ornaments, searched the house and found the cash. While fleeing with the booty, they bolted the main door from outside. Much later, she freed herself and got the bolt opened with the help of her neighbours. The total value of the property lost was put at Rs. 50,000, the police said. Burgled: Unidentified men broke into a house in P.P. Layout in Banashankari 3rd Stage and escaped with Rs. 35,000 in cash and a tape recorder. The house belonged to Yatish, an employee of the Mico Factory canteen. The burglary came to Mr. Yatish's notice when he returned home on Monday after being away for a couple of days.
