BANGALORE, JUNE 22. The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has clarified that there are authorised pay-and-park lots in the west zone of the city. The clarification follows the allegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party that the civic body was silent on "unauthorised" parking lots in Malleshwaram Assembly Constituency limits. According to a press release, contracts for parking lots on 3rd, 4th, 7th and 11th crosses in Malleshwaram became operational on December 30, 2003. Likewise, the parking lots on Police Station Road and 1st Main Road in Vyalikaval, the stretch from Yeshwanthpur Shopping Complex to HMT Main Road, Sampige Road to MES College, and the roads in Sadashivnagar have been allotted to contractors through tenders. In Gandhinagar, surroundings of North range office, Kalidasa Marg, Tank Bund Road, Subedar Chatram Road, Sheshadripuram Road and 2nd and 4th main roads also have authorised parking lots.
