SAI beats Income Tax RC
HYDERABAD,
JUNE 23.
Sports Authority of India scored a 2-1 win over Income Tax Recreation Club in the A-1 Division hockey league championship match at Begumpet Police Stadium here ON Wednesday.
The winner led 1-0 at the break after right-in G. Vijay Kumar scored in the very first minute.
In the second session, left-out Mohd Azharullah Khan made it 2-0. The consolation goal for the loser came through a penalty corner conversion by Ravi Chandra Prasad.
In the junior State knock-out championship at Gymkhana Grounds, Friends Club drubbed Cross Wings 6-0, with right-back R. Vikram and centre-half G. Mahender netting a brace each while left-in Jayachandra and centre-forward Praveen Kumar scored once each.
