CHITRADURGA, JUNE 23. An Army recruitment rally for posts of soldier (general duty), soldier (technical), soldier (nursing assistants), soldier (tradesman) and clerical has been arranged at Onake Obavva Stadium here from July 18 to 24. The minimum eligibility for soldier (general duty) is Secondary School Leaving Certificate with at least 45 per cent marks and the age limit is 16 to 21 years. For the other posts, the minimum qualification is Pre-University Certificate with 50 per cent and the age limit is 16 to 23 years. The candidates are expected to bring certificates to prove their educational qualification and age, 13 passport-size photographs, sports certificates and other relevant records. The children of ex-servicemen, students who have passed National Cadet Corps certificate examinations, and residents of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Chitradurga districts will be recruited. Candidates from Hassan, Chikmagalur and Davangere will be screened on July 19. Screening test for candidates from Kodagu, Shimoga, and Udupi will be conducted on July 20. Physical tests will be conducted on July 25. Interested candidates may contact local Employment Exchange offices for more information.
