Bangalore varsity's honour for achievers

BANGALORE, JUNE 23. The Bangalore University will honour the top achievers in sports on its roll at a function at the University campus here on Thursday.

The University will disburse Rs. 2,93,800 as cash awards.

He said the students representing the university will get higher incentives, camp allowances and medical reimbursement.

The State swimmer, Archana Bhushan heads the list of winners, claiming a total cash prize of Rs. 67,000 for her performance in the all-India inter-university aquatic championship.

The other winners include S. Veena, Amulya Mohan, Mrunalini Danaraj and Ankur Kanojia (swimming); Manjunath B. Godi, Vilas Nilgundi, T.U. Anil and Vinod Kumar (athletics); L. Keerthana, Mohan Kumar, B.N. Ashok Rashmi Bhargavi and L. Sushma (archery); the University men's ball-badminton team; men's cricket team; women's tennis, netball and Kabaddi teams.
