dated June 25,1954: Jehangir diamond

The celebrated Jehangir diamond, which, according to legend, was once attached to the beak of a peacock on the 17th century peacock throne of the Moghul Emperors in Delhi, was sold on June 23 for 13,000 pounds at a London sale room. The jewel belonged to the Maharaja of Burdwan. It was bought by a man who refused to give his name.
