Water supply disrupted in Erode

ERODE, JUNE 24 . Water supply has been disrupted in few areas of the Erode municipality. The residents have been forced to draw water from the nearby borewells.

The disruption was due to non-release of water in the Cauvery and stoppage of pumping from June 20.

The officials say that this was due to non-flow of water in Cauvery. They also urged the Government to discharge at least 200 cusecs of water either from Mettur reservoir or from the Lower Bhavani Reservoir, so that the water may be supplied to Erode residents.
