CHENNAI, JUNE 24. Indian portals have closed ranks to float an industry forum. The objective is ostensibly to expand and enhance the content and business realisation through online advertising, e-commerce and mobile advertising. Christened Internet and Online Association (IOA), the forum comprises key Indian portals such as HT.com, Indiatimes.com, MSN.co.in, Rediff.com, Sify.com, Yahoo.co.in and the online media agency Mediaturf. The Executive Council Members of the IOA include V.V. Kannan (Chairman), Neville Taraporewalla (Joint Vice-Chairman), Ramani (Joint Vice-Chairman), Upen Rai (Secretary) and Aninda Shome (Treasurer). Mr. Kannan said the impact of technology was seen only when it benefited a substantial portion of the population.
