Holland in, Germany out

BRAGA (PORTUGAL), JUNE 24. Joint tournament top-scorer Ruud van Nistelrooy scored two goals on Wednesday to lead the Netherlands to a 3-0 win over Latvia and into the quarterfinals of Euro 2004.

In the other Group `D' match, the Czech Republic beat Germany 2-1 to make sure the Netherlands could advance. The Czech Republic topped its group with nine points, ahead of the Netherlands with four, Germany with two and Latvia with one.

The Netherlands will play Sweden in Faro on Saturday.
