Vasu HC keeps winning

BANGALORE, JUNE 24. Vasu Hockey Club won its third match on the trot to qualify for the second phase of the V. Karunakaran and D.S Murthy Memorial inter-club hockey tournament here on Thursday. Vasu slammed BCYA 5-1 to top pool A.

Praveen had a brace (46th, 55th) Prakash (36th), Maruthi Bellary (45th) and Parasuram (49th) were the other scorers for the winner. BCYA had taken the lead in the 20th minute through Vijay's efforts but Vasu dominated the second half to score a comprehensive win.

In the second match of Pool A, Primrose beat Leo Hockey Club 6-2. Rakesh scored a hat-trick (20th, 22nd and 29th) and Vijay Kumar had a double (46th and 59th) while Satish added to the tally in the 35th minute. Manikandan (6th) and Manoj (40th) were the scorers for Leo HC.
