Mystery surrounds woman's death

CHENNAI, JUNE 24. Mystery surrounds the death of a 30-year-old woman at her home on Kandasamy Street in Royapettah on Wednesday.

While police said Gomathy committed suicide, her father alleged that she was a victim of dowry harassment. She was found hanging from the ceiling of her house. She was staying with her husband and in-laws.

Radhakrishnan sought an investigation by a Revenue Divisional Officer into the cause of his daughter's death.

He alleged that Gomathy's in-laws used to harass her for cash. Of late, they had been harassing her to get a car, he alleged.
