The maximum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung and Palam on Thursday were 34.8 and 35.5 degrees Celsius respectively, while the minimum at both places was 30 degrees Celsius. The maximum humidity recorded at both Safdarjung and Palam was 68 per cent, while the minimum was 51 per cent.
Kid drowned
According to the police, Vikramjeet Chaudhary, special correspondent with NDTV, had come to the Capital a week ago along with his wife and son and stayed in Kashmir House. Three days ago, he left for the U.K. in connection with some work. His wife and son went to stay with a relative in a farmhouse in Mehrauli. On Wednesday evening, Vikramjeet called up from the U.K. and even spoke with his son, Saran. However, while he was talking with his wife, Saran ventured out of the house. After about 15 minutes when he hung up, his wife noticed that Saran was missing. She went out looking for him and found him in the pond. She rushed him to Modi Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Suicide cases
According to the police, 25-year-old Rani, wife of Lal Singh, a resident of Ismailpur Road in Badarpur, allegedly committed suicide in her house by hanging herself from the ceiling with the help of a "lungi" this morning. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. In another incident, Sanjay Dass (35), a resident of Jamroodpur in Greater Kailash, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling this morning.
NEW DELHI
JUNE 24.
A young man, who allegedly murdered the son of his landlord after he objected to his misbehaviour with his sister at Prashant Vihar on June 6, has been arrested. His accomplice has also been arrested.
On June 6, the police received a call claiming that three injured men had been brought to BSA Hospital. One of them, later identified as Vicky, was declared dead on arrival. He had sustained five stab wounds.
During interrogation, the other two men, who had sustained minor injuries, identified themselves as Ravi and Ranjan.
