Engineering seat matrix

BANGALORE, JUNE 24. The Government today released the engineering seat matrix for this year, approving five new engineering colleges. There will be 41,945 seats available for selection in 113 colleges.

Of the engineering seats to be distributed through the CET Cell, 31,367 seats are under the government quota and 6,797 seats under the management quota. As many a 65 engineering colleges have agreed to fill their management quota seats through the CET Cell. In all, 38,164 seats will be available through the Cell. According to the matrix, which is based on the 75:25 seat-sharing ratio in the government's favour, only 3,086 engineering seats will be available for selection through COMED-K.

Only management quota seats could be filled through the COMED-K.

Of the new colleges, three are in Bangalore and one each in Udupi and Huliyal. The three city colleges are Impact Engineering College, Nadigar Engineering College and Reva Engineering College, sources in the Education Department told The Hindu.
