Youth takes away ornaments, cash

BANGALORE, JUNE 24. A youth assaulted three employees of a businessman at his house in the Koramangala Police Station limits and made away with cash and gold ornaments on Wednesday, the police said.

The police said the businessman, Kamal Sibani, a resident of 8th Block, Koramangala, went to Rajasthan with his family members four days ago.

On Wednesday, when his three employees, Ravi (22), Ashok (21) and Ram Singh (23), were at the house, Jaggu (23), a dismissed employee of Sibani, came there.

As they had known Jaggu before, the three employees allowed him into the house. At about midnight, Jaggu assaulted Ravi, Ashok and Singh and locked them up in rooms. Jaggu then broke open an almirah and took away Rs. 40,000 in cash and gold ornaments, the police said.

After hearing the three employees screaming, Sibani's relatives, who live in an adjacent house, arrived to rescue them, the police said. The Koramangala Police have registered a case. A search is on for Jaggu.

Body found

The body of a man aged about 50 was found in a quarry pit in the Mahadevapura Police Station limits on Wednesday. The police said the man could have accidentally fallen into the pit and drowned.

Arrested

The Kalasipalyam Police on June 19 arrested three persons and recovered from them gold ornaments worth Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 10,000 in cash. The arrested persons were allegedly involved in burglary cases in Indiranagar, Kalasipalyam and Koramangala police station limits.

The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Bhaskar (33), K.R. Manjunath (38) and Ajinath Jagdale (22) of Ambedkarnagar in Old Byappanahalli.

The Vyalikaval Police on Tuesday arrested Rasheed Ahmed (24) of Valmikinagar and recovered from him two mobile phones worth Rs. 20,000. He robbed two persons of the phones at a cinema, the police said.
