Foster's mission to curb chucking

LAHORE, JUNE 25. Renowned bowling coach Daryl Foster arrived here on Thursday night for a two-week assignment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

During his stay here, Foster will conduct the graduation course at the academy.

At NCA, Foster's important assignment would be to rectify the action of the young bowlers who have been identified with suspect action. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) roped in Foster in an attempt to save it from further embarrassment after a number of Pakistani bowlers were called for suspect action both during domestic and international tournaments.

Foster, in the past, had helped young pacer Shabbir Ahmed get over a suspect action at the University of Western Australia.

Besides curbing the menace of chucking, Foster will also finalise the syllabus for the academy. — UNI
