HYDERABAD, JUNE 26. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has demanded an apology from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, for misleading the youth prior to the elections by making a false claim that over 58,000 non-locals were in Government employment in Telangana. In the alternative, Mr. Rao should get the two reports of the previous House Committee on GO 610 implemented within a timeframe, now that the TRS is part of the Government, the TDP general secretary and the committee Chairman, R. Prakash Reddy, and former Law Minister, P. Chandrasekhar, told reporters here on Saturday. They recalled that despite the Government denial, Mr. Rao took up a propaganda before the polls that over 58,000 non-locals were employed in Government departments in Telangana. He should stick to the claim and get them repatriated to other regions immediately. Mr. Rao, who was a member of the House panel, should also ensure implementation of the committee's report recommending repatriation of the 4,700 constables of the city police. They were identified by the committee as non-locals. The committee could not act as the report was submitted days before the last Assembly was dissolved. Another report of the committee, identifying 106 non-local sub-inspectors of police, which was submitted to the Government earlier, could not be acted upon because of court intervention, they added. Mr. Reddy said Mr. Rao misled youth and other sections with false claims to come to power. He promised three acres of land to dalit families from out of sale proceedings of Nizam's jewellery and distributing the lands allotted to Formula One. Why cannot the Government do it now, he questioned.
TRS charge
The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has alleged that senior Ministers in the previous TDP Government from Telangana had organised a meeting before elections contemplating to join the TRS or set up a sub-regional TDP.Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the chief coordinator of TRS, K. Yadagiri Reddy, and some new entrants into the party from TDP, including the former Karimnagar Zilla Parishad chief, G. Rajesham Goud, said the former Ministers -- Kadiam Srihari, N. Janardhan Reddy and T. Devender Goud -- attended the said meeting. Appealing to the TDP to shed its anti-Telangana stance, they said the party cannot come in the way of the formation of the State.
