MANGALORE, JUNE 26. The renovation work on Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Devarapadavu, near here will commence on July 2. A renovation committee has been set up under the leadership of Naveen Kumar Kodialbail for the purpose. The seer of Sri Subramanya Math, Sri Vidyabhushan Tirtha would deliver benedictions at the religious function organised on the occasion. Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, Mr. Kumar said that the committee expected to complete the renovation work at an estimated cost of Rs. 40 lakh in one year. Believed to have a history of nearly 700 years, it is said Jain rulers of the area had administrative control over the temple then. While Durga is presiding deity, the temple also has three "parivara daivas."
