COIMBATORE, JUNE 26 . The Collector, S. Kosalaraman, today convened an advisory committee meeting to discuss the measures to be initiated for cleaning up and desilting of the Noyyal and the lakes and tanks that form part of it. The meeting took stock of the measures to be initiated to fill up the lakes, tanks and ponds that form part of the river. The meeting discussed the measures to supplement and strengthen the efforts of the voluntary organisations and a non-Governmental organisation like Siruthuli. Elected representatives like Coimbatore MP, K. Subbarayon, Perur MLA, Rohini Krishnakumar, Siruthuli Trustee, Vanitha Mohan, Secretary Balasubramanian, RDO, V. Muhilvannan, and a host of officials from Panchayat Development, Revenue, Public Works and Pollution Control Board attended the meeting.
