HYDERABAD, JUNE 27. Three goals by Amit Srivastava helped South Central Railway defeat Nav Bharath Hockey Club 5-1 in the A-1 division hockey league match at the Begumpet astro-turf ground here on Sunday. The Railwaymen led 1-0 at half time. The match was evenly balanced in the first-half. SCR's only goal in the first stanza came from Aslam in the 27th minute. However, the picture changed in the second session as SCR launched an all-out attack and pumped in four more goals. Ekka started the scoring a minute after resumption in the second-half. Thereafter, Srivastava got going and scored three more goals. For Nav Bharath club Suresh Singh reduced the margin by converting a penalty stroke in the 43rd minute. In the junior state hockey championship, Deccan Blues defeated MCH Red Hills 6-5 via tie-breaker after both teams were tied at one all at the end of the match. In another match, Friends hockey club defeated Tarbund XI 7-6 also via tie breaker.
