NEW DELHI, JUNE 27. Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Congress leadership today appointed the former AICC general secretary, Prabha Rau, to head the Pradesh Congress Committee in place of Ranjit Deshmukh. The AICC general secretary and in-charge of Maharashtra affairs, Vayalar Ravi, told PTI here that Ms. Rau, a former MP, had been given the charge with immediate effect.
