An ultra-modern house, estimated to cost Rs. 2 crores, is being constructed for the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, abutting the road between Rajiv Gandhi statue at Somajiguda and the Greenlands junction.
The three Government bungalows in the lane are being converted to house the Chief Minister's residence and a camp office. The bungalow, which was earlier the residence of the former Health Minister, K. Sivaprasada Rao, has already been pulled down for the purpose.
According to official sources, it is planned to complete the construction in four months from the commencement of the work which is expected to begin shortly. A city-based consultancy has been awarded the work.
