COIMBATORE, JUNE 27 . Coimbatore region is likely to experience dry weather during the next few days, according to a forecast by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), here recently. A weather-based agro-advisory bulletin issued by the Department of Agricultural Meteorology said that in view of the dry weather expected, farmers could irrigate crops raised under garden land conditions, depending on the soil moisture levels. With the prevailing weather being conducive for the spread of sucking pests in the cotton crop, farmers ought to look out for pest infestation, and spray insecticides. For onion, farmers could carry out top dressing of fertilizer, before irrigation.
