CPI(M) to take out protest march

KOCHI, JUNE 27. The CPI(M) district committee has decided to take out a march to the offices of the City Police Commissioner and Rural SP on July 13 in protest against the deteriorating law and order situation. The party will also stage dharnas in the evening at 11 centres in the district on July 2.

Training in water conservation

A one-day training programme on conservation of water will be organised by the Centre for Gandhian Studies, GCRD Swadeshi Trust and NRM Council at the Sikshak Sadan on July 3. Details will be available from Secretary, Poornodaya Book Trust, Kochi, according to a press release.

Rubber dealers' demand

The all-Kerala Rubber Dealers Association has demanded that the sales tax on rubber be reduced from 12.65 per cent to 4 per cent. The association has urged the Government to continue the subsidy on export and to restrict import.

Felicitated

A.C. Jose, new KPCC vice-president, was felicitated by the DCC at `Chaitanya', the party office. The DCC president, K.P.Dhanapalan, and others spoke.
