This Day That Age
Sir Donald Bradman, one of Australia's most famous Test cricket captains, announced in Adelaide on June 28 that he was retiring immediately from his post as a share-broker on the advice of his doctor. He revealed that he had received a serious warning from his doctor last week. That was why, at the age of 46, he handed his letter of resignation to the Secretary of the Adelaide Stock Exchange on June 28 and will close his firm of Don Bradman and Company on July 2.
