Postal makes semifinals

BANGALORE, JUNE 28. Postal Department defeated Mysore District XI 7-2 in a Prasanna Kumar Memorial Cup football league match at the Football Stadium here on Monday. Postal topped Group D with six points and qualified for Wednesday's semifinal against BEML.

Ravi Babu (3), Neslin Xavier (2) and Santosh Kumar (2) scored for the winner while Mahesh and Rozario chipped in Mysore District XI's goals.

In Group C, 515 ABW trounced Davangere District XI 12-0. Rajan (5), Girish (4), Mahendra (2) and Rajesh scored for 515 ABW, which along with Southern Blues led the points tally with four points each. The teams were also tied at goal difference (+12) and now will clash with each other in a play-off match here on Tuesday morning. The winner of this match will qualify from Group C for the semifinals scheduled for Wednesday.
