Haj applicants warned against `agents'

From Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, JUNE 28. The Haj Committee has asked Haj pilgrims to submit their application forms directly to the committee office, either by registered post or by hand, and not to individuals or groups claiming to be agents. The committee has clarified that it has no travel agents.

In a press release, the Executive Officer of the Haj Committee, R. P. Singh, said filled-in applications forms must reach the committee office on or before July 10. The forms must be accompanied by a bank demand draft for Rs. 10,650, drawn in favour of the Secretary, A. P. State Haj Committee, Hyderabad.

The release said the committee would release information about airfare and foreign exchange to the public in due course. The Darussalm Cooperative Urban Bank would function between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on all working days to issue DDs without commission, it said.

The Asra Hospital has a free medical counter to check the blood group of applicants. The committee had received about 1000 Haj applications so far, the release said.
