Srinivasan, Prema Darshini emerge champions

MADURAI, JUNE 28. V. Srinivasan of Anand Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Prema Darshini of Lady Doak College won the boys' under-18 and the girls' under-18 title respectively at the tenth annual Madurai District Carrom Tournament conducted by the Anchor Carrom Club at TVS Club here on Sunday.

The results: Boys' u-18: final: V. Srinivasan bt M. Arumugam (MCHSS) 11-25, 25-0, 25-8. Semifinals: V. Srinivasn bt John Issac (Holy Angels) 25-17, 3-25, 25-0; Arumugam bt T. Krishnaraj (Jaigopal HSS) 25-22, 25-20.

Boys' u-14: Final: Sriram (Dolphin MHSS) bt Andrew Ben Charles (Ben HSS) 25-7, 25-14. Semifinals: Sriram bt Venkatesh (MCHSS) 25-20, 25-21; Andrew Ben Charles bt Karthik Raja (MCHSS) 25-9, 25-12.

Girls u-18: Final: Premadarshini bt Salomi (LDC) 25-0,25-0. Semifinals: Premadarshini bt Shajitha Banu (Crescent MHSS) 25-0, 25-0; Salomi bt J.H.Par Hama (Noyes) 25-4, 19-25, 25-16.

Girls u-14: Final: V.Sri Vidya (Anand MHSS) bt Sarah (Zion Good Shepard HSS) 25-7, 25-5. Semifinals: V. Sri Vidya bt Shiny (Zion MHSS) 25-0, 25-0; Sarah bt (BEN MHSS) 25-24, 22-25, 25-16.
