SHIMOGA,
JUNE 28.
The youths of the village brought the presence of the Pakistani flag in the midst of the other green flags at the darga to the notice of elders a few days ago.
They assembled in front of the Police Outpost on Sunday morning demanding that those responsible for the hoisting of the flag be arrested and that the flag be removed.
The villagers allowed the lowering of the flag only after the police arrested five persons in this connection. More arrests are expected.
The situation is under control and additional forces have been posted in the village to avoid any untoward incident.
The Superintendent of Police of Davangere district, Aloknath, visited the spot.
