WASHINGTON, JUNE 28. The United States has welcomed the latest Foreign Secretary-level discussions between India and Pakistan, stressing that these talks are an opportunity for the two countries to make further progress in "comprehensive" engagement. "India and Pakistan are continuing their series of discussions as they seek to reduce tensions to resolve their differences. These latest talks between the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries covered conventional military confidence-building measures, additional steps in normalised relations and Kashmir issues. We applaud India and Pakistan's continuing efforts to make progress," an administration official told The Hindu . "We see these talks as an opportunity for the countries to make further progress in comprehensive engagement," the official added.
