Partly cloudy sky forecast

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, JUNE 28.JUNE 28.JUNE The weatherman has forecast partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development in some parts of the Capital on Tuesday. The maximum temperature will be around 37 degree Celsius.

The maximum and minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung on Monday was 37.6 and 26.4 degree Celsius, while Palam recorded 38.7 and 26.4 degree Celsius respectively. The maximum humidity recorded at Safdarjung and Palam was 83 and 84 per cent, while the minimum was 37 and 32 per cent respectively.

`Auto-lifters' arrested

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, JUNE 28.JUNE 28.JUNE Four persons, including three juveniles, engaged in auto-lifting have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police.

Two of the accused were arrested while they were riding on a stolen motorcycle at Pitampura in North-West Delhi on June 18. At their instance, the police arrested the gang leader, Sunny Chhabra, and his accomplice. Another stolen motorcycle was recovered from their possession. During interrogation, Sunny disclosed that he had initiated all the three juveniles into the world of crime.

Adulterated cement seized

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, JUNE 28.JUNE 28.JUNE Three persons, who were allegedly smuggling adulterated cement into the Capital, were arrested by the Crime Branch from Kapashera in South-West Delhi on June 24. Two trucks loaded with adulterated cement were impounded during the operation.

The accused have been identified as Risal Singh, Hardwari Lal and Sua Ram. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that the consignment had been supplied by Rajender Goel, a resident of Neem-Ka-Thana in Rajasthan. The owner of one of the trucks has been identified as Rajender Prashad and a hunt has been launched for him. Further investigations are on.
