KOCHI, JUNE 29. The Union Minister for Power, P.A. Sayeed, is confident that the proposed LNG terminal in Kochi will get final clearance in about three months. The Minister said the National Thermal Power Corporation had plans to add 1,950 MW of power to the existing capacity of its Kayamkulam unit. To meet the requirements, the NTPC has initiated the process of sourcing LNG/natural gas through international bidding. The bids are scheduled for opening on July 21.
