Rainbow, DBHA share points
BANGALORE,
JUNE 29.
Rainbow HC and Dhanraj-Ballal Hockey Academy (DBHA) shared four goals and two points in a group B second phase encounter of the V. Karunakaran and D.S. Murthy memorial inter-club hockey tournament at the KSHA stadium here on Tuesday.
The match got off to a rampaging start with Xavier netting in the 10th minute for Rainbow. However, four minutes later Saad Ahmed Khan struck the equaliser for the Academy boys.
Just before half time, Mohsin Khan struck home off DBHA's fourth penalty corner to enable his team go into the break with a slender lead but captain Monish Kalappa restored parity for Rainbow with a fine effort to ensure sharing of points.
In a group A match, Vasu HC (Hubli) earned three points for its 6-4 defeat of Postal.
Vinayak (3), Prakash (2) and Chandrashekar scored for the Hubli side while Prakash Chalke (3) and Taranath were on target for Postal.
Vasu HC thus has four points from two matches
