Singhal for forum to pursue Hindutva
By Our Special Correspondent
KOLKATA,
JUNE 29.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad's working president, Ashok Singhal, said here today that there was a need for having a separate forum for pursuing the Hindutva agenda.
"The Hindutva agenda apart, we need a forum to counter those challenging our ideology,'' he said.
Mr. Singhal and a host of VHP functionaries are here to participate in the outfit's two-day governing council meeting, slated to begin tomorrow.
Mr. Singhal criticised the previous Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance Government for "failing to serve the cause of Hindu society.''
Hundreds of supporters of the Sangh Parivar stayed away from campaigning as the NDA Government had not pursued policies beneficial to Hindus.
Mr. Singhal said the Amarnath pilgrims would undertake the journey from Pahalgam on July 2 even if the Jammu and Kashmir Government did not provide security.''
