Kidnapped
boy rescued
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East Delhi), Anurag Kumar, the boy, Ravi, the only son of Rajbir Sharma, went missing from outside his house around 11 p.m. on Sunday. Suspecting that he had been kidnapped, the police registered a case and initiated investigations. The next afternoon, Rajbir received a ransom call in which the kidnappers demanded Rs. 5 lakhs for releasing Ravi. They asked him to hand over the amount in the Shiv Vihar area or Loni. Meanwhile, Rajbir informed the police that two of his tenants, Rajesh and Bhole, were missing after Ravi was kidnapped. Subsequently, the police traced Rajesh and detained him for questioning. During interrogation, he broke down and confessed to having kidnapped Ravi in connivance with Bhole, Charan Singh and Ravi Kumar. At his instance, the police mounted a raid on a Shiv Vihar house and rescued Ravi. The other three accused were also arrested. They disclosed that Rajesh and Bhole had masterminded Ravi's kidnapping, as they were convinced that Rajbir would readily pay the ransom for his only son. Rajbir runs a grocery shop at Bhajanpura.
