CHENNAI, JUNE 30. The Chennai Corporation today cancelled a special meeting of the elected council slated for tomorrow. The meeting was to have discussed alleged irregularities by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Trust in setting aside space at its headquarters for use of a public park, as mandated by the Development Control Rules for the Chennai metropolitan area. The Government served a notice to the DMK Trust on Tuesday on the issue. A press note issued by the civic agency today said the meeting had been cancelled, following the Government action.
