TIRUCHI, JUNE 30 . `Varuna japam' was performed in 67 temples in the district today following a direction from the State Government. The District Collector V. Pandian, participated in the japam performed at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam here. During the function, 25 priests rendered slokas from the Rig Veda. The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple Joint Commissioner, P. Sivakumar, and Tiruchi District Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Joint Commissioner, Jayaraman, took part, an official release here said today.
