HYDERABAD, JUNE 30. The controversy over the functioning of mess at the E-1 hostel in Osmania University has been resolved. The mess started functioning from Tuesday night with students agreeing to wait for the report of a committee of Professors constituted to look into the incidents over the last few days. A statement from the university said that student representatives had helped in finding a solution to the problem and appreciated their decision to cooperate with the university. The university would, however, communicate in writing its assurance on other issues raised by students, by Thursday. Meanwhile, the committee of Professors began its work and would interact with students to elicit their views. It would also look into the modalities for a decentralised set-up of the hostels and student participation in managing them. The committee had also been entrusted with the task of expediting the process pertaining to accommodation facility for B.Ed students, the statement added.
