Goodwill Club routs YBA
NEW DELHI,
JULY 1.
Naveen and Prem scored two goals each to fashion Goodwill Club's 8-0 win against Young Bengal Association (YBA) in a group III league match in the DSA `B' Division football league championship at the Nehru stadium here on Thursday.
Navin slotted home the first goal in the very first minute before Abhishek (3rd miniute) and Prem (24th and 26th) made it 4-0 for Goodwill. Navin was again at the helm and struck the first goal after changing the end. Virender (38th), Praveen (55th) and Rohit (58th) were the other scorers.
In another match at the same venue, St. Columba's Club held Punjab Heroes to a 1-1 draw. Rajender scored in the 12th minute for Punjab Heroes and Amit helped Columba's draw, scoring in the 55th minute.
At the Ambedkar Stadium, Lodhi Club beat Venus Club 1-0 through Yashbir's 18th minute goal, in a group II match.
