Exchange of fire

DIPHU, JULY 1. The Assam police and NSCN (I-M) militants today exchanged fire inside the Dhansiri reserve forest on the Assam-Nagaland border during an eviction operation launched against encroachers, official reports said. The NSCN (I-M) had sought to set up a Naga village inside the Assam territory to which the State Government objected.
